I'm Mike Collins, the home cook behind the brand. I started Fork and Ladle with the belief that good food doesn’t have to be complicated, expensive, or reserved for special occasions.
I'm not a trained chef, I've never been to culinary school, and I've never worked in a professional kitchen. I'm just your average guy who taught himself to cook amazing meals at home.
That means: If I can cook it, so can YOU.
Like a lot of people, I started cooking out of necessity. Busy days, hungry family, and not much time to overthink dinner. Over time that turned into a genuine love for creating meals that are practical, reliable, and actually worth making again and again.
And there's nothing like preparing a delicious meal and watching your whole family enjoy it. Speaking of family, here they are...

Fork and Ladle is built for real life cooking. Trust me...I know what it's like to get home from work and struggling to throw dinner together before scrambling to get the kids to soccer practice or a girl scout meeting. We're talking big flavor with minimal nonsense.
We specialize in comfort food classics and weeknight staples. If a recipe is on this site, it’s been tested in a real home kitchen and it’s meant to work for you. You won’t find overly fancy, restaurant-style plating here (I'm still working on my food photography skills). But if it tastes great and the family enjoys it, we call it a win.
